A native of the great North West (Liverpool that is), and already keen on photography at a young age, Graham's interest in cinematography took hold after being given a Super 8 camera at the age of 12. Unsure as a teenager how you actually become a Cameraman (especially without any family members in the industry), he followed his interests in both Art and Science, continually shooting and making short films, eventually gaining a place at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London to study for a Masters in Film.
Since then, and for the past twenty years, Graham has been based in London, working professionally as a Director of Photography and now has a wide range of theatrical feature film, drama, comedy, commercial and corporate work under his belt.
His work encompasses a great variety of productions in a great variety of styles, which has meant adapting to each emerging format. He is comfortable shooting on everything from 16 and 35mm, through Digi-Beta and various tape formats, to the evolving HD and digital formats, adjusting to the specific lighting and operating skills needed for each. Expert also in Time Lapse and Stop Motion Animation, Graham has worked with Tim Burton on Corpse Bride & Frankenweenie, and with Wes Anderson on The Fantastic Mr Fox.
As a freelancer, Graham is used to tackling the many challenges presented by increasingly complex projects, with an appreciation of how his work might tie in with post production techniques. He communicates well with others and understands the need for flexibility and professionalism in getting the job done. He is easy going but focused, with an affable personality and a dry sense of humour.
After two decades producing high quality images for the worlds of Film, TV, and Advertising he continues to have a passion for taking the imaginings of writers and directors, and translating their vision into moving images for the screen.
When not working Graham enjoys the odd game of Poker, renovating his house, and gushing on about himself in the third person.
